The Junior League of Madison has a committee devoted exclusively to our community impact focus, developing youth leadership. The Community Impact Committee is working to develop and host a series of empowerment workshops with two local high schools. The mission of this project is to: “Empower young women to discover their capabilities, embrace and further develop their own unique strengths, and become their best selves.”
Each series will consist of three half-day workshops, with a follow-up workshop later in the school year. The initial sessions will focus on helping girls learn and understand the inherent strengths they possess, notice and appreciate the diverse strengths others possess, and then see those as tools they can use to achieve goals and contribute to their communities.
The tagline for these sessions is, “What’s your anything?” The Junior League of Madison seeks to help young women realize that they are capable of anything, and start evaluating what that might truly mean in their own lives, whether it’s getting better grades, applying for college, learning a new skill, or wanting to become President someday.
